View Full Version : hello
Hello everyone,
Just a quick note to say Hello, I'm on the long half of a double and am ready to go home. I've only been dispatching for about a year and am excited to find a support group like this one. I look forward to learning new ideas everyday. Have a safe day.

Welcome Dani! I've not been around here very long myself but I really enjoy getting the shared information. If there's one thing that "networking" teaches you, it's that the grass really IS NOT always greener on the other side!

Dani,
Welcome aboard! Believe it or not, I was born and raised in Superior! I went to college at UW-Eau Claire for 3 years, moved back home with mom and dad for a bit, and then got hired down here in Kenosha where I've been for the last 7 years. Do you dispatch for the PD or for Douglas county? Are you originally from Superior?
Take care, and welcome aboard again,
Kenoshacop
Welcome!!! :bounce: :bounce:
There are usually two, maybe three of us at work at a time so we get to pick a side to work on. Both of us take all of the calls so we share the dispatching for the city and the county. Is there anyone you want to say Hi to or anything. The city has has had a few new hires but not too many, the county is starting to see more retire. Let me know I'd be glad to relay the message.

I didn't know that the city/county did joint dispatching up there. Our dispatch center is the same way down here in Kenosha. They do city p.d., sheriff's dept, county fire and rescue (9 volunteer depts.), city fire and rescue, and one village p.d. dispatching. They usually have about 6-7 people working per shift, including a supervisor.
There are a few guys I'd like to say "hi" to, but I'll p.m. you with names if that's okay. I never got to know too many of the officers/deputies up there.
