JUST FOR FYI--- LAST WEEK THE PORT AUTHORITY HIRED 85 NEW COPS. 72 OF THEM WERE NYPD COPS, INCLUDING 2 NYPD SERGEANTS... THIS SHOULD TELL YOU SOMETHING

THEY ARE LOOKING TO HAVE 2 MORE CLASSES THIS YEAR--8 WEEKS FOR THOSE WITH LAW ENFORCEMENT EXPERIENCE.

Yes, I know someone in there right now and they say they love it. They are still working of the test from '98 for the next two classes, right? I guess if you didn't take that test in '98 you really don't have a chance....?

Does this mean they will not be hiring anytime soon since they just hired 85?



:eek: A buddy of mine is one of those 85 nypd officers who left for PAPD.

Somebody recently put up a number you could call to find out if you'd been contacted from the last test and missed it or to see if you were still on the list, but they said they lost it. I was hoping that person found it or somebody else knew it? Thanks.

i have heard they are looking to bump the force up to 2200 cops. also, i have been told a lot of guys are going to retire since the recent OT due to wtc has bumped their pension calculations through the roof.

Topspin, I asked for that # for PAPD, about 2 weeks ago. I can't find a human resources # any where. I took the test back in 98 and passed, and have 6 years years as a law enforcement officer. If anyone has the #, I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

A friend of mine, who's in the PAPD academy at FDU, is about to graduate at the end of April. He said that there might be a test comming up in September. Thats the rumor going around at the academy.

If I hear any thing new ill post it!

SALARY (PROGRESSION)
WORK DAYS (ROTATING OR STEADY TOURS)
PRIOR POLICE EXP. (TIME CREDITED)
VACATION, SICK, HOLIDAYS ETC..

HERE'S A PERK THAT THEY HAVE THAT I WILL NEVER FORGET---

LETS SAY YOU ARE WORKING AT NEWARK AIRPORT IN NEW JERSEY AND YOU GET SOME OVERTIME AND YOUR NEXT SHIFT STARTS WITHIN 8 HOURS. WELL THE PAPD HAS TO SET YOU UP IN A HOTEL ROOM AND PAY FOR YOU ROOM SERVICE(A MEAL).---ITS IN THEIR CONTRACT
