I need some advice from leaving my Office now and moving out of state to a new agency.

Right now I am the youngest officer in the department, but the most senior officer. I'm a FTO, SRT member, and Mounted Patrol Member. I do pretty much everything for all types of investigations. It's a small department; 23 road + jail.

The other department I'll only be doing traffic for a while, plus I'll need to go through another POST academy then through their own academy.

The only reason that I'm looking elsewhere is because of pay and my financial needs. The only raise that I'll get is if the county commisioners decide to give everyone a raise. We don't get paid for extra duties, as most SO's don't. So pretty much I'm topped out for a while, at least until the next election.

We're looking to sell our house regardless. (By the way, if anyone's looking to buy a house in CO, PM me.)

Should I stay and wait or take my chances again at the bottom. I don't know what to do. Help me out guys.

Thanks.

Just curious,

Why not apply with Colo. State Patrol, CSP pay tops out for a Trooper at 59,000. Many Troops have take home cars and CDPS is set up the same as AZDPS as far as having CBI etc. Wouldn't have to sell your house etc. etc.

Just a thought.

Thanks Trooper!

This puts everything to a close. I talked t my wife and...
I will be applying to CSP. I didn't realize it until you said it, but CO does have everything the same. Plus, I would be able to relocate any where in the state. My house is still up for sale though. Send me a PM and let me know who you are.

THANKS!
