I believe it's actually for TIGTA, which is different from the Department of Treasury Inspector General. TIGTA (Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration) used to be the IRS Internal Inspection Service.

Really? the vacancy announcement said that the employing agency was Department of the Treasury, OIG for tax admin. So I am totally confused now. Is there a way to confirm which one it really is?

There are two Inspectors General within Treasury. One is THE Office of Inspector General (Treasury OIG), which handles fraud and many internal cases for all of Treasury. The other is the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA), which as mentioned, was formerly known as IRS Internal Security, and is responsible for cases involving IRS personnel. Since you said the announcement mentions the IG for Tax Administration, that makes it TIGTA, not OIG.

I applied to this vacancy back on 11/05/01. I got a notice of results on 02/09/02 indicating that I qualified for grades GS5 and GS7, with a score of 92.

I have not heard anything since.

Can anyone give me some info. on what this exactly means? What is a good score? Is ID = not eligible or something?

I just received my notice of results today via e-mail. I scored a 93 for both the GS-5 and GS-7 grades.

I just submitted my application for the Ft. Lauderdale vacancy though, since my hubby is with the USCS in that area.

Basic Creds:
BS in Criminology
3+ years as a auditor
2+ years management analyst working with computer systems
1+ years non-sworn LE training position

Good luck to everyone! Anyone know what the next step in the process is from here?

I scored a 91 for GS7 in Fort Lauderdale. I am not sure what they base it on exactly. My background is as follows:

BSBA Accounting
Public Accounting 4 years
Forensic Accounting 1 year

I have experience in many areas of public accounting:
Tax, audit, reporting, assurance, financial planning, business valuations, insurance loss claims, fidelity claims, litigation support, etc...

I am also waiting on the IRS-CID freeze to be lifted. I took the TEA exam and got a 93 on it.

I just wonder where I go from here! What kind of timeline does TIGTA have? Does anyone know?
