Is this a shuttle run? If so, how many yards and at what intervals? Ex. 30 yards x 4

go to www.brianmac.demon.co.uk/eval.htm it gives a good overview of the agility test and the sit and reach.

The Agility run is a piece 'o cake. You start out in the down push-up position(on the ground, though). When they say go, you pop up, run through some cones(zigzagging) and then turn around and come back. I forget the times, but it is nothing to worry about.

To anyone worried or curious about the PEB. It is not hard, nor is it meant to boot anybody out of FLETC. The 1 1/2 mile run is the only "rough" thing about it, and that is usually an acclimation issue(That Muggy Georgia weather!). As far as I know the only agency at FLETC-Proper that uses an additional PT standard is BP, and possibly USMS(Any DUSM's can clarify?). Of course, if I'm wrong, please chime in!

I did it a week ago, and here's how it went. It is done in the gym. They have 4 cones or, in my class, upside down garbage cans spaced equally apart. You start out as GlassMasterson said in the down pushup position. The instructor says go, you pop-up and run the length of the course (10 yards) and run back. You immediately weave through the cones going back down the course and then weave coming back. You then do one last 10 yard dash down and back on the other side of the cones. No big deal. They give you three attempts and record your best time.

That is about how it went. Me and Mac-Lewis did the PEB post test just 2 days ago. I will also add that one of your feet must touch the baseline on the basketball court on the way down both sides of the cones (upside down garbage cans). Also I only did it 2 times because I wasn't happy with my first time. If you are satisfied with your first time you can go on to the next event or try again as I did.

GlassMasterson,

You are correct the USMS does have its own PT course. After CI school then USMS academy for 1811 hires. I understand the USMS 1802 hires are going through the same course.

There use to be an instructor for USMS that is now a legend in the USMS. Those that went through his training program have immense respect for him. Mr. Natsky (sic) would put a candidate through hell but when they left they were in the best shape of their lives. I had the fortunate experience of being trained by him in self defense and PT.

I recall at one point doing 1400 jumping jacks with a four count non stop after he got us in the shape to complete it. I also recall some falling out during the event. Crazy as hell but it got my attention!

His dedication, although at times extreme was to save your life when you were in that ultimate survival situation.

I understand he is still doing personal training as a business in his 60's
