I would ask Virginia this question but she is extremely busy with people much further ahead of the game than me so I thought I'd post on the general board here. Virginia mentioned that if you sent in your TEA results with the bubble you should send in your own 612 and 306, no problem, but she said to send in three references. On the three references does it matter who they are, are these supposed to be work references? Character references? Or both? Can they be submitted on simple typed white piece of paper or is there a form to fill out? Thanks all.

Codeman,

I checked my Customs file and unfortunately I didn't photocopy the packet. From what I recall the form that was included for references was not specific. It came in a packet with the test admissions notice, TEA study guide, OF612 and 306. I put down 3 past employers, I was selected but to my knowledge my references were never contacted. So I don't think it really matters as long as they are not related. When you fill out the SF-86 there is a portion for "people who know you well," which has more specific instructions.

Someone may recall the instructions better than I can...

Good luck,
~PJM

The directions were not specific, just three references.

Does anyone know what the process is after submitting the bubble sheet for USCS- if youve already taken the TEA? That makes it one step to go through I assume. Just curious what the next step would be and when the interview is if I get that far...

You would jump in line and go "upstairs" for review. If you are qualifed you get a tentative offer. Then BI, SI, Med, whiz etc in no particular order. Do a search for Macloed Lewis' posts on the USCS process, he laid it all out pretty nicely.

Have good weekend,

Thanks everyone for your replies, I'll get the forms filled out and sent in this weekend. I'm just glad I've already taken the TEA......

If I remember correctly, the references were supposed to be either former employers and/or college or graduate school professors. Hope this helps.

Apologies please, I stand corrected....zz25 was right on. The reference sheet says three professional references (e.g., current or former supervisors, college or University professors, managers or coordinators of volunteer activities, etc.) Do not list personal friends or relatives. Good luck,
