2 Clarksville TN police officers killed

Two Clarksville police officers were killed Friday when their squad car crashed into a vehicle during a high-speed chase of an armed robbery suspect. One officer was a new officer and the other was a Field Training Officer (Officer David Scott). The officers were chasing a suspect from a 12:15 p.m. robbery at a Fairfield Inn at 110 Westfield Court near Interstate 24. The suspectıs vehicle escaped the crash. It was believed the officers' car collided head-on with a citizen's vehicle at the intersection. A person in the second car was injured in the crash and was being treated at Gateway Medical Center. Witnesses said the officers' car exploded and burned. Several other officers tried to pul them out but were unable due to the condition of the car and the intensity of the fire. Witnesses said the fire spanned the width of road. The suspect remained at large at 6 p.m. Friday and was the subject of an intense manhunt. The fiery wreck occurred on the 101st Airborne Division Parkway near Peachers Mill Road in North Clarksville.

Dave Scott was also a veteran of the 5th Special Forces Group at Ft Campbell KY and a father of several girls...he was my partner for several years and my 1st FTO...I will miss him dearly.

J -
Was out there at one o'clock this morning sitting on the side of the road just looking at that spot. I put some flowers out there too. As always - I am a phone call away -
