View Full Version : USPP Officer Killed
On my way to work this morning at 5:00AM the Baltimore Washington Parkway was closed. Comming back from work at 3:00PM, Parkway was still closed. Never knew why until I saw the news. Young Park Police officer was ran over and killed by a drunk women. They showed her on the news screaming at Park Police Officers who were holding her in custody. She seemed to be complaining about her rights being violated or something to that effect. Made me sick!

This has truely been a sad week for the National Park Service. They also lost a LE Ranger, who was shot and killed at Organ Pipe Cactus National Moument on the US/Mexican border. It is ranked as the most dangerous place to work in the national park system. Here is a link to the story:

I was driving north on 295 and noticed the southbound side blocked off. I turned to the news radio station and heard. My thoughts and prayers go to his family.
The opposite goes to the "lady" that killed him. He was on the scene of a traffic accident. I saw her on tv later being uncooperative with park police. Hats off to the officer who I saw dealing with her on tv, he was alot more professional than I thought.

This has been an awful couple of months for all of law enforcement. I lead off with a USCS inspector that died in Gramercy, LA last October. The death of the young USCS special agent out of Chicago, IL from an apparent brain aneurysm. The horrible injury of a USCS CEO Rios from S. Texas that was run over by an idiot in a stolen local police car. CEO Rios has been progressing, but has lost a leg in the incident. Lastly, a New Orleans Police officer that was shot last week during a botched robbery.
Say a prayer for all these Law Enforcement officers.
Remember that these are your brothers in blue no matter what position you are in or hope to be in.
So sad for all of their families. I heard about the police officer in New Orleans. He left behind a 13 month old girl and a pregnant wife.
We need to keep all of those officers, their families and their friends in our prayers.

For those interested, the Officer Down Memorial Page provides good information about law enforcement deaths. I check it every few days, and, unfortunately, it is usually updated with another death.
Check it at: http://www.odmp.org/index.php
