Hey ya'll, was surfing on the New Jersey DOP site and saw this posted. I thought it was on topic. I guess for those of you on the list this is all good news, for those of us not on the list like myself. . .we continue to wait. Does anyone know what the recent rumors are about the discrimination suit against the state that has affected this?

On July 30, 2002 the Commissioner of Personnel revived and extended the firefighter eligible lists that were originally issued on June 30, 2000. The new expiration date of these lists is July 1, 2004, or when new lists have been issued, whichever occurs first.
Because some municipalities have exhausted or are close to exhausting their firefighter eligible lists, the Department of Personnel will issue examination announcements in the near future for those cities with a need for new firefighter lists.
For updates on the Fall Firefighter announcements, periodically check the Fire Fighter Career section of the NJDOP website http://www.state.nj.us/personnel/ffcarinfo.htm or call our Information Center at (609) 292-8668.
