Does anyone on this board carry this gun on their ankle. If so is it comfortable (seems kinda big for me) and what type of holster do you have for it?

Thanks

I personally think it's too big. You'd need parachutes for pants to cover it adequately and there's GOT to be a better way. Can't carry the 26?

Nope....not getting a 26, found Im getting a little 5-shot so I guess that will do.

Now THAT will work! Check out Alessi ankle holsters. Quality stuff that will last for years. Also, an alternate ankle gun wallet can hold some Bianchi Speed Strips, etc.

I think the G19 is too big to be put on an ankle. I've done it (briefly) and unless you're wearing bellbottoms, its not going to work. I can get my G26 on my ankle though, but prefer to put my gun elsewhere unless there is a very good reason to put it down there.

Dang, if I wore a 19 on my ankle, I'd be walking with a limp. The five shot would be much better, however if you are permitted to carry a G-26, that would be the way to go. The best part is that your magazines for your 19 would fit your 26. Plus, under the stress of a shooting, the 26 would operate the same as your 19. They feel similar too, especially with the pinky extension.

randylach....

You must work for USCS O/I.....let me guess, you went to ask the firearms guy for a G-26....but of course he does not have any and he has to put you on a "list"......but meanwhile, he has plenty of 5-shot revolvers....a little oxydized, but they still throw the .38's downrange!

I just got hold of a G-26 at my SAIC office.....I carry it on my ankle with a DeSantis ankle rig. When I was a det, I carried a G-27 on a Galco ankle holster with the sheepskin padding. But after a year or so, the sheepskin padding wore down and the holster dug into my ankle bone. The new one I got is not sheepskin, it's padded suade and wont wear down....just something to consider.

Believe it or not I know 2 agents in my office that actually DO wear their G-19's on ankle holsters...they use that Galco sheepskin padding holster for a G-26/27....they ust stretched it out. They claim it is the same weight, but with LEO mags, I would bet that it is alot heavier......but hey, that's what they want to wear.

Good luck getting a G-26...just have to harass the guy every week until he gets tired of you calling and just gives you one to get you off his back!:)
