Is the test as easy as the study guide? What's the lowest competitive grade for an Essex county position? What's the "usual" time frame from test to appointment? Does anyone know what the "teamwork" aspect of the test consists of? How does the fire physical agility test compare to a police physical test? Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately, I can't help you much with the written portion of the state test. From what I heard about the physical, get ready to about pass out. All I can say is CARDIO CARDIO CARDIO.
You take the test wearing a weight vest to simulate SCBA. I know there is stairclimbing with a weight or maybe even hose to simulate a hi rise pack (hose pack), dummy drag, hose drag, push ups, more stairs. I think you can get the picture. All of the physical aspects of the job that you would encounter on a daily basis. As for the teamwork portion I would have to imagine the same maybe using scenarios or team building exercises similar to the military ?

More or less get in some great physical shape.
