Which handgun to buy?

I finally got around to applying for my gun permit about a month ago, but I'm still undecided as to which handgun I should purchase. I've always liked the Glock 22 and 23 but then I started thinking. I'm in the process with customs for an inspector position with only the BI left to go. Maybe it would be a good idea to get the Glock 17, which inspectors carry. Is there really much of a difference between the Glock 17 and 22? I never really had any interest in getting a 9mm. Would there be any sense in getting the G 17 just because I might be training with that weapon in the customs academy? Or would shooting the G 17 at FLETC just be that much easier if I buy a G22 now and practice on that?

It doesnt really matter which one you buy. The Glock 17 is very user friendly. I never shot a Glock until I went to FLETC and was perfectly fine with it.

Just curious... were you issued the newer Glock model with the hand grips?

Yes it is the one with the new hand grips
