Hi all,

Just got back from the range (I am pre-academy), and I am having a major dilemma with my holster and belt. My waist is small, and my belt lifts when I pull the gun out of the holster. I was wearing the uniform dress belt with the uniform utlity belt attached over it with my keepers, and the sucker still lifted when I tried to pull out and draw my weapon. I literally had to draw with my right, and hold the belt down with my left to get it out.

The range master said it is a common situation for women and those with small waists. He suggested I get a stiffer belt for under my utility belt. Any suggestions or recommendations on brands?

My holster is still also incredibly new and needs to be broken in, which could be half the battle. Any ideas or suggestions?
Thanks,
DD13

Spray some silicone spray inside your holster. That's what my range master told me to do. It works.

Just a question first...............What kind of holster are you using? Is it a level III or level II that you need to draw from properly? The reason I ask is that I saw a girl at the range doing the same thing and little did she know, she had a level II and was just trying to yank it out. With the keepers, it shouldn't be raising that much, even if the holster is brand new.

Check Gal's online or any local police supply store in your area. You need a 2-inch high belt to wear under your duty belt. With just a 1-inch high belt, which it sounds like you're currently using, there is too much movement between the two belts. You can probably pick up such a belt at any dept store to get you by, but don't expect it to wear very well.

Or, get one of those velcro innner belts that mates to your duty belt.

They switched us over to the basketweave belts, so the nylon under belt won't work for me.

I believe my uniform belt is 1.5 inches, and it barely fits through my academy pant belt loops as it is, so I really cannot go any wider. Hopefully, everything will break in soon!

Thanks all!
