HAS ANYONE FIRED THIS WEAPON YET? I'M CURRENTLY READING A WRITE UP IN GWLE ABOUT UNION COUNTY OHIO CHANGING
FROM A DOUBLE ACTION .45. THIS NEW GLOCK IS FULL AUTO.
i WOULD LIKE SOME FEEDBACK BEFORE I GO TO THE RANGE AND TAKE THIS PUP FOR A TEST RIDE.

THANX IN ADVANCE FOR ALL REPLIES

The Glock 31 is the same as the 17 or 22 except in .357 Sig. The Dept. in question might have provided select fire aftermarket conversions but the 31 is not normally full auto.
I haven't fired the .357 sig, I hear that recoil is about like a +p 9mm but that the muzzle blast is attention getting. It's supposed to be quite accurate and delivers a lot of energy. I was in Virginia a few years ago and the State Police loved their Sig 229s in .357.

If you are considering .357 SIG as a private purchase duty carry I would re-think it a bit before deciding. Go out and price .357 SIG practice ammo, if you can find it that is. Ammo is both hard to find and quite expensive. Although I think .357 SIG is a good calibre for law enforcement I just haven't seen anything written about it that would make it superior to the more wallet friendly and more available .40 S&W. Good luck with what ever you decide on and be safe out there. (BTW, I have handguns chambered in both calibres, the above description about recoil and muzzle flash is dead on.)

I carry the G31 for duty and have it's little brother, the G33, for back-up and off duty.

As mentioned, the recoil is like that of a .40 with a bit of a bite to it. Certainly, no problem to control. I shoot it and my Sig P229 (.40) about the same during quals... give or take a couple points.

The gun is aweseom, ballistically. You could certainly do a lot worse.

The .357sig round is one heck of round that will defiently get someones attention. I went to the range a couple days ago, and I was on the left stall, my dad in the middle stall and a buddy of his to his right. I was shooting my G33 .357sig backup weapon, my dad shooting a .22 pistol, and his friend shooting a .45.

When I picked up my 33 and started shooting, my dad picked his stuff up and moved a couple tables down due to the noise. A word to the wise, I don't care how strong you are, but I would highly recommend someone NOT purchase a G33 for a backup weapon as the recoil is TERRIBLE. But my Sig P226/357sig isn't all that bad.

Just depends on what YOU want. I like take a Sig Sauer pistol over a glock any day, but one thing the glock has over the Sig is that they will NOT rust. And the Sig is more accurate.
