Body Armor opinions

I currently work in the armored car industry (hopefully a stepping stone to the police force) and need to purchase body armor.

From researching past posts on this forum it seems like the 2 brands/companies most people refer to are Safariland and Second Chance Body Armor. Are these two companies the best out there? What do you guys wear and/or recommend? Most likely, I will go with tactical body armor over concealable because our perception/appearance is the greatest deterrent of any threat out there.

I would "second" (pardon the pun) the Second Chance choice if you were going with a concealable vest. Since you are talking about more of a tactical vest, there are many other options out there since Second Chance is most well-known for their concealable, lightweight, thin vests.
