Anyone know what firearms ATF Agents are issued? Are they able to choose from a list of approved firearms or are they required to carry whats issued?
Are they issued weapons like MP-5s or shotguns? Curious but knew panel interview was not place to ask. Also how hard is it to become a firearms instructor or range officer with this department? I am a firearms instructor with my current agency and really enjoy it, i would like to be able to do this if i decide to move to another agency. Thanks in advance. Probie1

Basic issue is the Sig Sauer in 40 S&W. Were using the MP-5, moving to the M4. Found early having 9mm around with 40 creates problems. Shotgun is the classic Rem 970 cut down with a trigger pull that will lead you to believe the safety is on. Back up a hammerless smith in 38 , but plans to move to the Sig 239 in 40. Tactical theory in ATF is what's mine is yours if I can't use it.
