It is not that bad, and they have a big timer so you can see your progress. Just do a few practice timed runs before june 5th.

Ya no s***, I know you don't even want to remember when you were processing (The Dark Ages) but they threw that curve ball as an added bonus. It was not that bad, it was just a pain in the ass because we thought we were done. I guess it is a good thing because it is a reminder, the best is yet to come. They also tell you that academy time is like 12:20 the 15:30 is just to get through the process.

Don't worry NYC03, the academy isn't bad at all, actually kind of a joke. They can't go too fast because you run in a small circle around a basketball court. With so many people it just doesn't work. YOu have an "accordian" effect where you run half a lap, then have to slow down to a walk as everyone gets bunched up on the corners. Looks like Friday afternoon traffic, LOL. But your knees will start to kill you between running in a small circle, stop-and-go running and the hardwood floors!!!!! At least the academy is shorter now, mine was 10 months. Good luck.

I did pretty good for senior citizen (lol) at 34 I still made in the academy time. I must admit I'm starting to get a case of the jitters now that this might happen. I respect your opinion about the job and have read your posts. I really don't like my current job,I have no kids, and my girlfriend is supportive. So If I don't at least give it a try I may regret it down the road. My father was a cop, my best friend has been on the job in the town we grew up in for a year now (He made a hell of felony stop 2 weeks ago,Congrats!!) My cousin just got hired in the same Dept. So this is something I have to do. I may kick myself in a year but it won't be the first time.
