All,
I deleted a post here by a new member that was meant in humor, but certainly might not be perceived that way by folks coming to post in this particular thread.
Just an FYI - while it may seem funny to read someone's "will I get hired if" post regarding past drug use, it's important to remember that this is a real issue for a lot of LE applicants. I think I speak for all of the moderators when I say that we recognize the fact that these questions are important to the people asking them, and we treat the questions with the same importance.
It's very easy to laugh at someone else's misfortune when you have not walked in their shoes. It borders on the ridiculous to laugh at that person when you have as little time on the job as some of the people who seem to be doing the laughing. Like I said, I understand that the intent of the post was all in fun, but a lot of people viewing it would probably not see it that way. Needless to say, we don't tolerate any ridiculing of people for asking these types of questions.
If you want to make jokes - that are not at the expense of another member - we have forums for that purpose (Coffee Break, Roscoe's World).
