Hey all I am looking for some input on the effects of Creatine and long distance running on the body. Specifically I am looking for what point (mileage) wise is there a decreased benefit?

I know that Creatine is great for sprints; however I heard lay off Creatine when distance running because you can develop cramps, more body weight (obviously) due to more mass equals slower times etc.... I have been a serious weightlifter for years, and would rather lift then cardio. I am going to an academy in Aug, and have cut myself up, at the expense of losing mass. I run 10-15 miles a week Vs the 3 I used to do. After I pass the entry PT test I plan to go back to mass building, and supplement with Creatine again.

While in the academy I have to run quite a few long distance runs, so that is why I am curious about any KNOWLEDGABLE information (pro's/con's) anyone can impart on Creatine and long distance running.

Thanks again for any help

J.

"... I hope no one minds me adding the above website, I have found a lot of useful info there for a long time, and just wanted to pass it on to those not in the know."

Did you bother to read the rules of the board that clearly say do not post links to commercial websites before posting one?

Sorry about that then guess that is why I should read the rules first ;).

My misunderstanding then, I figured because that website I posted because it was not selling anything only had info was not a commercial site (in the true sense of the word). I only added the hope no one minds part because it deals w/all areas of weightlifting, including steroid use, and I know how some people get overly sensitive sometimes. I see the new sticky up above dealing with links, so once again sorry to the mods.

Now does anyone have any information that I can use, a research paper, magazine article etc... I am tapped out from my sources except the I heard from a friend who heard from a friend type thing. Some where out there has got to be some research done I just can't find it.

Thanks again

J.
