Legality of Ephedra Bought Prior to On-Coming USFDA Ban

As you probably already know, Ephedra (aka Ma Hung, Ephedrine) is the controversial weight-loss nutritional supplement that the USFDA will probably “ban” or clamp down on soon.

I bought several bottles of Ephedra-based supplements, while on a great sale. But once the USFDA clamp’s down on Ephedra, will it be illegal to own/use the Ephedra-based supplements that I purchased before the FDA ban/clamp down?

Any comments on how these clamp down's (or bans) typically take effect will be greatly appreciated.

(Even if I were not applying to federal law enforcement I would still be concerned.)

Are they talking about banning it for sale entirely? I know that CA has banned the sale.

In any event, it would depend upon the legislation. In the case of the so-called pro-hormones, I believe the new House Resolution (HR 227 if I recall correctly), seeks to place then on federal CS schedule III. In that case, if the law passes, you'd better use or dump what you have because you would then be in possession of a contrlled substance.
