Anybody have one of these? I am thinking about purchasing one but would like some feedback before I do. Any opinions are welcome.

Well crap, you asked for an opinion and now you are going to get one.

I would never buy one, but thats my opinion! :) Actually going to the gym and lifting free weights is a great stress relief for me. The actual movement away from my house/work/etc. and being in a place with only one purpose in mind. My gym has recently started going to some of the machines that are like bowflex and personally have not liked them as much. I feel that I get a much better workout with free weights than most machines.

Like I said, just my opinion for what it's worth.

Good luck in your decisions.

I've had mine for several years and it's an excellent piece of equipment. I still have my gym membership though.

I've used it and I didn't much care for it. I found it somewhat awkward, though I've heard that it takes some getting used to. I agree, however, that it is a well-built piece of equipment. Even so, I like the free weights as K9 mentioned. Speaking of quality, I've owned soloflex (bowflex makers) free weights (dumbbells and plates) and they are fantastic. I recently bought their new barbell and when I combine the weights with my multi-purpose bench, I get a great workout minus the club dues. If you like the feel of the bowflex, I'll attest to the company's commitment to quality.

I love my Bowflex machine. Well made, smooth action, great resistance. I would recommend the Bowflex to anyone. I've had a "power pro" model for almost 3 years now and it still works flawlessly. I use it 5 times a week. Worth every penny.

That sounds quite logical.

Bowflex-schmoflex....

Come to my house and move an 8X12-foot pile of rocks (and around 8 feet high) about 100 yards behind the house with a wheelbarrow...That's how I spent MY weekend, anyway... :)

And I have to get MORE rocks for the OTHER side, so if anyone needs a good workout, please let me know.

I do not own or really ever tried a bow flex, so I can not attest to its feel. But I'll chime in anyway..

Unlike other exercise equipment bowflex has been around for some time. The test of time is usually a good determination of its value or whether it is just a fad thing (like the total gym or that other one with the large rubber bands).

I would suggest you get something that can work all major movements (push/pull, horizontal/vertical, and quad’s and hams).

I would suggest a power cage (WITH A HIGH/LOW PULLEY) (with a bench with a leg curl and extention. Here you can not go wrong in terms of quality of exercise workout. To me it is worth getting a power cage where the holes for adjustments are closer together. Yes, this setup will probably cost more but if you get it used, you will probably get a good deal. Or if you get it brand new, then it will only depreciate so much.
