Pushups/Situps/Pullups: That's not in (1) minute is it?!
Why do the women have to do more pullups than the men???

Pushups/situps/pullsups are a continuous motion exercise. When you stop you're done.

It's not that the women have to do more pullups, this was the record. Women actually do pullups differently. There is a bar 3 feet from the floor, you lay beneath it and pull yourself up until your arms are parallel to the floor. They're much easier than what the men go through.

wow what did the guys get that came in second or 3rd place, those guys had great scores, good job

the women also weigh less than the men generally and are thus able to do more pull-ups, but nonetheless....holy crap. i run a mile in 6mins. and 23secs, can't imagine doing two in less than 10.
what are the scores to max out on the fbi and deat physicals in each event?
I just know FBI scores. This is from a sheet that was given to me by my AC (as of 12/2002). I don't know if there have been any changes recently.
To max out in each event (10 points each). You need 15 out of 50 to pass.
MEN
Pullups: 20+
Situps: 100+
Pushups: 71+
Shuttle-run: <21.5 sec
2 mi. run: <12:00 min
WOMEN
Pullups: 28+
Situps: 100+
Pushups: 50+
Shuttle-run: <24 sec
2 mi. run: <13:45 min

The test scores are the same for the FBI and the DEA.
I can't believe one guy did 329 pushups. That is just too unbelievable.
Chainring,
I'd have to agree that 300+ pushups sounds unbelievable. It's just what is up on the Quantico gym wall. They don't specify the exact format of each event and whether it is the same as it is now (i.e. 2 minutes continuous). I'll try to ask one of the instructors some day.
actually the world record for push ups is in the thousands non-stop so 329 its not so unbelievable then
Actually, pushups and pullups are not timed; once you stop you're done. Only situps and the running events are timed...

I think I saw an article in the past 6 months or so about this record being set, but it wasn't "continuous motion" push-ups. The guy would take short breaks--60 seconds on, 15 second break--and just kept going and going. I'll try to dig up the article.
[edit] It was the October 2003 article of Muscle and Fitness. The guy did sets of 75 pushups with 15-second breaks in between. Still impressive.
For that matter, I believe it's okay to "miss" a pushup and keep going, so conceivably someone smart could "miss" for an extended period (by using bad form on purpose) until they had recovered enough to do a couple proper pushups that count. I don't know if that's allowed or not for pushups, but I'm pretty sure I've seen stories on these forums from guys who have talked about missing a pullup or two and being able to keep going.
I guess it all depends on how tight the rules are and how you can use them to your advantage.

The guy who set the FBI record for situps is on the Discovery special G-Man: The Making of an FBI agent.
158 situps in 2 minutes.

Are your feet anchored during the situps?
