For the PT test at FLETC, I understand that for the bench press you get graded on the % of your body weight that you can press, but how many reps do you need to do?

Thanks

It is a max out.

You get 5 lifts and the best one counts.

If you go to Fletc.gov you can se the % based on age.

The machine they use SUCKS though.

It is not free weight or a smith machine.
It is a OLD universal type machine

Hope this helps.

PS you need 90% on all 4 areas (not inlcuding body fat) to make the wall of fame.

Thanks DSFREP.

One more question. Do you find you can lift more or less on the old FLETC machine than using free weights or a smith machine?

Thanks

I personally, found to left less than free or smith.
I am unsure why but that was just me.
Good Luck

DSFREP you wrote:

Can you elaborate on the four areas?

4 items:

Benchpress

Sit and Reach

Agality Run

1 1/2 Mile Run

http://www.fletc.gov/ptd/peb.htm

The above site explains the age groups and what is needed on the score.

Good Luck

is there a weight maximum? Or does it use a hydrolic shock?

I have never seen a machine that goes beyond 250 lbs. with out have a free weight adding structures.

And do you now the flexibility break down?

When I was at FLETC 5 years ago, the stack for the bench press was 370#.

Dan hit it on the head.

Same machine

It goes to 370 or so

I do not understand what you mena by the flexablity break down?

It is a standard sit and reach.

Hope this helps

Sorry,

How many inches beyond my toes do I need to reach to get a specific score? How is the flexiblity test rated, or broken down?

And I guess since ICE does not have a specific weight requirement like the FBI does, if 157% of your weight exceeds the 370 you need only to lift the whole stack, either that or if 157% of your weight exceeds the stack... your fired :D

1. Are the PEB requirements the same for FLETC GA and NM??

2. I know that pull-ups aren't on the list for tested requirements, but I know that they need to be done... my question is - how many pull-ups do you need to do, to look good infront of the instructors?

Thanks.

Does anyone know when the PEB is administered during CITP (beginning/middle/end?)

Thanks

1. I have only seen one set of standards.

2. In my CITP class, we never did pullups. In my Border Patrol class, 10-20 would make the instructors happy.

You have an initial PEB the first week of CITP. If you score below 25% on one of the parts, you will work with one of the trainers to come up with a personal routine to improve on that shortcoming. Some trainers throw in another PEB midway through as a status check. The final PEB is in the week before graduation.
