forensic chemist jobs

I'm trying to find a job as a forensic chemist. my acedemic credentials and work experence far exceed the minimum req's for these positions however, none of my work experince was in a forensic lab. I'm too old and educated to take an internship and doing a post-doc really wouldn't get me any closer to a real job IMHO.

any suggestions are welcome

Thanks, They must have posted those after I posted here. I check the OPM site ca. once a week. I already applied for a similar position with number of federal agencies and the military (as a civilian).
