Our EMS BIKE TEAM (BLS) is being reorganized and I am looking into how other EMS agencies operate their BIKE TEAM Programs.
Currently we are operating with our personal [mountain] bikes fully equipped with a complete BLS first aid kit plus 1 bike AED / 1 bike O2. We operate with 2 bikes per unit and in theory are paired up with 1 BLS ambulance and a supervisor.
Future explansion plans [1-2 years] include obtaining 2-4 bikes via donation, grants, budget, etc. Each unit [2 bikes] will have a "medical bike" and a "trauma bike."
Information on bikes, bike accessories, specialized medical equipment, operations, etc., would be appreciated.
