I GOT THE LASERMAX SYSTEM FOR MY GLOCK 23. HERE'S MY PERSONAL OPINION ON THIS SYSTEM.
PRODUCT PRICE: $389.00

PRO'S:)

- QUICK INSTALLATION
- LONG BATTERY LIFE ( 200 HOURS )
- DOESN'T OBSTRUCT NORMAL FIREARM FUNCTION
- FIREARM CAN STILL BE HOULSTERED
- PRODUCT TEST FIRED PRIOR TO SHIPPING

CON'S:sad day:

- BLACK/ WHITE INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS UNCLEAR.
- LASER BEAM SLIGHTLY PULSATES. NOT A STEADY BEAM.
- SOME OF THE INSTALLATION PRODUCTS DON'T FIT CORRECTLY
( PROPER INSTALLATION REQUIRES SOME USE OF STOCK PARTS )
- ON/ OFF SWITCH IS AKWARD TO OPERATE. ( REQUIRES USE OF BOTH HANDS TO TURN ON AND OFF )

Just had to post on the Lasermax. I had one in my Sig 229 and also in my Glock 19. I also was a little surprised about the pulsating laser (although I knew it pulsed before I bought it). They say (lasermax) the pulse allows for longer battery life and better target sighting. I guess during the day a pulsing laser is a bit easier to spot (at least in my case) than a solid one.

As for having to use 2 hands to turn it off. I personally prefer a pressure switch on the gun so you can turn it off and on instantly.... The one thing I did notice about the laser though... When I carried the weapon in a duty holster (Safariland SSIII) I found that if I holstered the weapon with the laser on, it would be turned off by the holster...

It worked that way on both the Glock and the Sig. Don't know if it was designed to do that, but in my case it worked on both....

Other than that I was very happy with it. My Glock 19 has both the lasermax and an M3 light. Too bad I can't carry it anymore. :(

Oh well... Murphy's Law in law enforcement. Buy something really cool, trick it out, and then you'll either be forced to sell it in your divorce, or won't be able to carry it at your current/new department.

Kahuna,

For the G-19, how far away from the target can you see the laser?

I've had one on my G27 for several years. The pulsating laser actually aides in picking up the laser and DOES increase battery life. I experienced some glitches in initial installation as well, but it has been great since I installed it!

I've got no issues with on/off and am a happy customer. On my G27, I've got excellent visibility in daylight at 25+ yards and in low light, I can hit pepper poppers at 100 yds. (I didn't say always, but it's not the sight!)

I just picked up a Glock 27 with a lasermax I haven't even fired it yet because I haven't had time but I am looking forward to it soon. I asked the guy when i traded it how accurate it was and he said I will put it to you this way if you point it center mass on someone you are going to hit them. I traded a Glock 17 for it that i learned to shoot with and I think I made out. I will get back to you on how accurate it is.

Concord,

Well it depends on a number of circumstances of course... My exp. has been that at night I can see it over 100 yards away. (Now would the round hit the spot the laser is shown at 100 yards, no... :) ).

During the day I would say useful range is probably more like 7 to 15 yards.... On a bright summer day I was often unable to see it at all... It is a great point and shoot tool... A few times at the range we had night shoots and/or late afternoon (dusk) shoots where we had to hit the metal target during a combat shoot.

At night, guys were missing 2, 3, or even 5 rounds.... With me I was hitting the target with the fist round right out of the holster.... I tried not to get too comfortable with the laser... Best to rely on your normal sights and the laser is just icing on the cake. They (lasermax) say the round will strike within two inches of the laser dot at 25 yards.... I found that to be true in my exp.

Neat toy... Expensive, but neat to have... *VERY GOOD FOR FELONY STOPS!!* I don't know how many times I put that laser on a bad guy during a felony car stop or other armed encounter and they focused their attention on that dot on their chest... Thank you Hollywood! :)

I got the Lasermax to T&E about three years ago for my Sig226 and still have it. The only problem I have had with it is when I had to replace the batterys. I posted asking if anyone had ever replaced them in the past and found out (Kahuna I think you turned me on to this info) that you can replace them with you off the shelf ear/watch batterys. Since I replaced them it seems to have a mind of it's own. If anyone has had this problem please tell me what you found out. Just to give you a better idea of what the problem is, the on/off switch will do what it wants, when it's pressed to the right it might go on and when it does it will then work and then shut back off. I don't use the 226 anymore but I think I'm going to give them a call and see if I can get some info.

I used my lasermax yesterday on my Glock 27 for the first time I must say I am not all that impressed, maybe I just have a bad one but sometimes it shuts off after you fire once other times it doesn't, the sight is about 3 inches higher then actual bullet hit point at only 25' away. The laser sight is high on every shot. I must say I was having better patterns using the regular sights and I may even uninstall the lasermax. I am going to call the company and see what they have to say but if this is what you are to expect from a $350+ laser sight they aren't worth it. In the owners manual it states that you should be 3" from laserspot at 25 yards I was 3" off at 25 feet. Well if anyone else is having these problems please let me know how you resolved them.

Will2335: Recheck the installation and see if your laser is then spot on. LASERMAX has some great reps that you can contact for further guidance.

As I said, mine is on my G27 and it's worked great! DM
