I posted this last year and wanted to do it again. In a couple of months the Orange County Lifeguard Department will have its physical agility and tryouts.

If you are interested in EMS/Fire Service, lifeguarding is a good stepping stone, we have had many people move on to LE, Fire, and EMS type jobs.

If you are interested drop me a pm, I think the first tryout is in April.

It is in the Southern California area, to head off that question.

perks:

Ocean Lifegaurd Certs, First Responder Certs, and access to our in-house EMT basic program....its a quick one.

OK those aren't the only "perks" of being a full-time lifeguard!

True, but I was told this a professional forum and if you want the juicy, or not so juicy details(as it is in my case) you will just have to apply and see if its all Bay Watch or not.

I can assure you its mostly not, but I do have a picture of David Hasslehoff in my office.

That guy has done as much for my profession as Michael Chikless has done for the LAPD.
