Ahh Essex...lot of antique shops in Essex...Currently I am a Campus Police Officer at NSCC...I have worked in Boston and on the Northshore as a EMT..for about 6 years..I've had my ticket for 9(Can't belive it's been that Long)...To answer some of your questions..as far as providers go..I would recommend if you want to be busy and do some good street work I would recommend Trinity up in Lowell..one of last locations to still do old school BLS ...they also have Haverhill..which isn't too far...If you want closer Lyons in Danvers and Northshore in Salem.....Northshore very busy...both transfers and streetwork..(Rep is a little iffy depending on who you ask but they have some good folks there)..Lyons isn't bad either but can be very clique'e (sp) and they tend to want to do things the Lyons way..also the Funeral home part and the Ambulance part are seperate now...I belive that NS does still pay a little better...I don't recommend AMR..too big..they also dumped alot of their 911 contracts...as far as Fallon goes..it's the privately owned AMR...and they are on the South Shore...I don't think you want to go all the way down there...Going to medic School I would wait a year and then apply...Make sure you want to do this job before going to medic school...there are some good programs..Mass Bay has a good one as does Cape and Islands Ems if you want to take the drive...You can do Northeastern University..but it costs $$$$..Region 3 was starting a program a few years ago I'm not sure if they are still doing it.. and to throw out one more provider you may want to try Action Ambulance..they were the place to work not too long ago...esp if you can get some time in Lynn...not like it use to be now with all the providers sharing calls between the fire..action.... atlantic etc..but you can get some good calls...Feel free to pm me with anything else or post em here...and welcome to the boards
BTW were you taking your exam this past Sat in Danvers?: :D :D
