if this link does not work it is the 9010Z, these jackets have a few different features, mainly one is crossteck, and one is gore-tex. which do you think is a better jacket? Does anyone have one of these? if you like a different jacket do you have a pic or link? thanks a lot
P.S the uniform place by us closed down, so I have to mail order it, would you know where I can get the sheriff sign on the back the is the silver reflective type? thanks
My department issued those very same jackets to all of our officers...it'll keep you dry, warm and there's plenty of pokets for stuffing.
Make sure that you get the liners. The jacket alone will NOT keep you warm in the cold.
Well I just picked one up adn it cost me $300. I guess not to bad.
I have this jacket - I actually wore it this morning out here in Middle-of-nowhere, AK in a driving snowstorm and I've been wearing it all week.
Mine is only slightly different - it has the "hidden-agenda" style panels for the badge and ID on the front and "POLICE" on the back (note: it is NOT a "hidden agenda" jacket, though - which I think are rather cheap - it's a Blauer). It's warm with the thinsulate liner and the gore-tex keeps you dry. Plenty of pockets, too, including a couple of nice, big ones on the inside.
Only problem I have is that it's a bit short for me and what I use it for. I use it for plainclothes wear, such as while executing warrants or in any situation where you don't want to be ID'd at first, but DO want to be ID'd later. I'm 6'2" and it seems to only barely cover my weapon at times and has a tendency to "ride up" while in a vehicle, when getting out of a vehicle, when reaching up, etc. If you use it while in a uniformed capacity, this would not be a problem (it has the side zippers to pull your weapon through if you want, like most LE-designed jackets), but if I had it to do again, I'd probably get the same coat in a slightly longer length.
Mine also cost around $300 - I got it in MN about 5 years ago.

I'm pretty sure that these are the jackets my pd issues. I'm looking it over right now, and can't find a model number, but it looks just like the one you have pictured. It's goretex and has the zip out quilted liner.
I like it a lot. Like others have said, the liner definitely adds the warmth. Without the liner, it's not much more than a windbreaker. I find it comfortable and warm with the liner. The goretex keeps any water from penetrating to the inside, but it seems to soak up water like a sponge. It seemed a bit short to me too, and I tried on a bunch of sizes before I settled on a size 50R. I normally wear a 44-46 jacket, so that seemed large to me, but I've been wearing it for two years now.

We're issued jackets that are probably the exact same as what krellum has. They have the hideaway badge/police tabs and are made by Blauer. I have the liner in and keep the hood attached pretty much all the time. It's a great jacket, but like krellum said, if you're carrying a weapon it can pop out pretty easily from the jacket (I'm 6'0"). I wish the jacket were a little less snug in the waste. That's my only complaint.
