Does anyone know if any chicagoland private ambulance companies are hiring EMT-b's. I thought the turnover rate was high for this job but I can not seem to find any one hiring. Thanks!:D

Almost any urban private EMS company is continuously accepting applications. Many if not most will never run ad or post a vacancy unless they are in dire need. Don't for a second think that means there are no jobs available. A very easy low tech way of searching is the phone book. Find the listings for ambulance companies and start calling. Ask for human resources or personnel. You will quickly find companies who will at least tell you to drop by to fill out an appplication.

Good Luck.

Did you recently graduate the course? I just got picked up by a private company about a month ago. What part of the city are you in and I'll give you some places to try.

The company I work for is Advance Ambulance, formerly Tower Ambulance. We are the smallest company in the area (20 rigs) but we have a prettty good rep. and we are pretty family orientated. Because of our small size us BLS guys respond to a lot of ALS calls as first responders until someone else shows so it makes for good experience especially if you plan on going to medic school. I'm not sure if we are hiring anymore but you can always give them a call. 773-774-8999

Next on my list I'd try Medex, 847-673-6333, then there's Superior 630-832-1513

There are some more companies that I'm not to familiar with Vandenburg, PSI, Pulse, they operate a little further south I believe.
