Microphone mounts on police vehicles

Perhaps a dumb question but, where is the microphone located on police cars with mounted cameras? I'm amazed at how well they pick up a conversation both in and outside of the vehicle. Is there more than one mic? Thanks

On our squad cars there are two. There is one by the video screen and then we carry one on us either on our belts or in a pocket.

There are almost always two, one inside the vehicle, and one body mic. on the officer. They usually can be turned on and off independently so you can capture what audio you want.

Ditto on the above. We have one transmitter/mic on our belts/shirts and one inside the vehicle. I usually turn the internal mic on on the way to jail if I think there's some incriminating audio that will be forthcoming.
