There has been some good information recently on this board concerning ICE firearms, etc... Anybody hear anything around the water cooler concerning a future CBP firearms policy. I'm a legacy Customs firearms instructor and I get asked all the time about batons, O.C., potential qualification courses, etc... The only difference that I note at the port level is that legacy II's are now in FITS for inventory purposes. Any info appreciated.

I am also Legacy Customs and I think the policy is still very unclear. I am a Defensive Tactic instructor and the case about the batons was Legacy Immigration used the ASP and Legacy Customs was going to issue Auto-Locks (This is what they trained me with at Fort Benning). As Far as firearms, I heard Legacy Immigration will sooner or Later (later being my best guess) be issued the Glock 17. The qualification course of fire has been made with a mixture of both Sides former courses, but it is unclear when it will be introduced.

Hope this helps

I'm an NDF (non-deadly force) instructor with ICE former immigration. We tested the auto-lock and it had many good features except for the fact that button type locking device could fail and has in the past vs. the ASP that uses friction to hold the shafts open. Not to split hairs, both seem to have pluses and minuses, I just prefer the ASP.

Has anyone heard anything about an off-duty weapon being allowed for CBP Officers, such as the Glock 26?
