I am searching for an "inside the waisteband" holster. Any suggestions?
I generally don't wear belts with my pants so it needs to fit securely.

I am somewhat limited on my concealed carry options, as I refuse to carry one of those God awful holster purses....ditto with a fanny pack. I am finicky.

Thanks!

You're going to need to wear a belt to wear a holster. I have an inside-the-waistband holster, a Black Hawk. It was cheap, only about $20 I think if not cheaper. The loop wraps around your belt to secure it in place.

I was not all that impressed with it and have such switched to an outside the waistband holster. I wear long baggy shirts anyways, so it still works. With the inside-the-waistband, I felt it was far too difficult to draw the weapon using gross motor skills, which therefore makes my gun useless in an emergency because I won't be able to draw it. The outside-the-waistband is far easier to draw and it still hides pretty well.

My gun is a Glock 17, which is a full-size pistol, which also limits my conceal ability. That 17 is a cannon compared to some other Glocks that are out there.

Hope this helps.

I like the Blade-Tech Ultimate Concealment Holster. I have one for my Kahr K9, and one for my Glock 19. A little pricey at $65, and not everyone is willing to accept a polymer holster, but it is very well made, and allows the shirt to be tucked around it. This is especially useful when the weather is warm enough where a jacket is not worn. Sometimes you just can't go with the big shirt hanging over your pants.

I use a Blade-Tech also, although I don't have the "tuckable" version.

One of the most important parts of IWB is THE belt. You have to start with a quality belt! The belt has to be strong enough to support the weight of a holstered weapon. That is whats going to hold the weapon in place and if you dont have the correct belt then the weapon is just going move/slide around.

Not sure I know of any true IWB holsters that don't require a belt...you could try something along the lines of a belly band holster (there are several good brands out there, and some not so good ones), or Thunderwear-type holster (no experience with these designs, never seemed like a great idea to me).

For IWB holsters, I am partial to the MacDaniel II design from Sam Andrews leather. Great holster, adjusts well to wherever you want to position it and stays secure. Everything is custom made, so you can have it made the way you want (e.g., thumbreak vs. no thumbreak). http://www.andrewsleather.com/

Yes I reglected to include the necessity of a good quality belt. I use a Kramer double thick horsehide. The belt is the foundation of any good holster system.

Blade-Tech Ultimate Concealment Holster. Spend the money and buy a good gunbelt. I've had my Alessi for over 20 years and it's good to go for another 20. DM

I've been thinking of buying the Blade-Tech Ultimate Concealment Holster. How does it look when you tuck your shirt in? Does it look neat, or does it look like you just didn't tuck your shirt in all the way.

Not sure what your limitations regarding carry are, but if authorized, look at some of the KelTec guns in .32 or .380. There is an accessory clip that can be placed on the side of the weapon that will allow placing the weapon in the waistband and the only thing that will be visible will be the small clip and maybe a very small portion of the rear of the frame. I carry mine like that and no one ever notices it. It is VERY lightweight and you hardly notice that it is there. It is also accurate and reliable.

The Blade-Tech UCH will allow you to tuck your shirt completly in without bunching up around the opening of the holster. All that will be visible is the tab which loops under the belt. Two screws adjust the tension. properly adjusted there is no way the gun is going to bounce out, even if the shirt is not tucked around it.
