View Full Version : A pain the Butt
Just wanted to know if someone could answer me why my browser would reload the forums page(s) 10+ times each time I visit? I noticed that this started to happen when the forum was closed down for a couple of days. when i returned and logged in, it began. I have already cleared out my cookies folder and it did not fix the problem. any suggestions?
ps. I am on a dsl connection and have tried a dial up connection to see the outcome. on dial up, browser is normal and only loads page once. on dsl though, page just loads and reloads and reloads and reloads....until I click the stop button or let it reload for about 2 to 3 minutes till it finishes.
thanks in advance for your help. did not know where else to post question.
There is nothing wrong with the board. It is running 100%. It could be either your computer, your dsl provider, or something happened to your account when we switched servers. If the latter is the problem, you will have to re-open a new account.

Of the 3 suggestions you provided, i would not know how to narrow it down to a specific thing. This is the only webpage that the reloading occurs. There are no errors found with my dsl provider/browser when I check the status of it. My computer is running fine, no viruses or CTDs. But, when I attempted to create a new account, I was not able to go past the page "rules of the board, check 'I agree' and click register button". Once I click the register button, a new web page opens which looks like the personal information page to create an account, but it reloads twice and returns me to the rules of the board page. Basically stuck in a loop when I try to create a new account. I even logged off my account and tried to browse the forums and got the same effect.
Don't know what to tell you. The board is running 100%. You might want to ask your questions on some kind of tech forum. This is a Public Safety Employment Forum. I am going to close this thread. Good Luck!
