View Full Version : Anyone use Turtle skin gloves?
Before my mother in law wastes her money on a xmas present for me. Do any of you have any feedback on the Turtleskin gloves? I like the idea of the puncture proof protection. Right now I have a new pair of uncle mikes duty gloves that are comfy but offer little to no protection. Also is the only place that sells them the manufacturer? I see them on the warwick sight for 52 bucks. thanks in advance for advice.
I would also like to know if anyone has any feedback on these gloves. I need a pair of duty gloves and am thinking that the turtleskin duty plus gloves look to be a good mix of protection and dexterity.
Thanks

I have been using them for about the past 6 months and have been pretty happy with them. They are going to be a bit stiff at first, but once you break them in they have a good feel to them. The palm of the hand and tips of fingers are very secure from puncture, I haven't had any encounters with problems, but I always make sure to put them on before I pat down the locals that are into heroin. For the hell of it, I tried poking it with my own knife and I didn't have any problem. The back of the hand is nice because it is pretty thin, so it is still easy to wear in the summer and won't get too hot if you end up having to wear them for 30 mins or so searching a car, doing pat downs, etc.
FYI - They tend to run a bit big if you look at the sizing chart. I found this out the hard way by ordering a large pair, I ended up having to return them for a medium pair.

I use the turtlesking gloves and they are okay. I have not had the chance to test them (thankfully), but should I ever come across a needle, I'm hoping they'll do the trick and protect me from being pricked.
What I am disappointed with is the warmth factor. Using them simply as gloves to keep you warm on cold nights won't do the trick becasue they are thin. I'm thinking of buying a separate pair of gloves to just keep my hands warm for when I'm not searching people or cars.
cool thanks guys. I already have a pair for everything else. These will just be for searching people and cars.
