As the subject implies, I will begin looking for a new pair of summer duty boots. Maybe that will at least appear to make the winter go by a little faster. I am pretty much thinking I want a pair of the 6", 3/4 style, boots that are fairly lightweight and somewhat sneaker like. Can anyone offer advice on a particular pair of boots that fits this description? Hey for that matter does anyone have advice on summer boots at all. Comfort is the number 1 priority as I have flat feet. Durability is a fairly distant second. I will probably spring for a pair of Danner Acadias with the 400 grams of thinsulate for next winter, but money is a little tight right now to buy them for this winter. Any comments or suggestions are as always appreciated.

I have a preference for the Striker GTX 8" by Danner. It is waterproof and lightweight. I use it year round up here with out a problem. I have a pair of Acadia's, while light they feel clunky to me so I tend not to wear them. My feet also seem to sweat a lot more in them than in my GTX's. As far as durability, I have had the GTX's for two years and am just now looking to replace them.

Hope this helps.

Check out Bates boots - good year round, come in a variety of styles (mine are the enforcers) and are comfy enough to run in.
