Anybody know how to get the ASP brand holder over the gunbelt?

Apparently my belt is too thick for the slot. I know the ASP holster is adjustable to accomodate different widths, that's not my problem. My problem is that my belt is too thick, not too wide. I can't get teh belt threaded through the slot in the holder.

The slot measures 8mm and the belt is just over 11mm thick. The holder is made of plastic and there is no "give" like a leather slot might have.

Have you looked in to Galls? If that does not help, I may know of a guy that knows where to get what you need, but I have not heard of that problem myself...I take it you have a Web belt also?

What's a web belt? I don't knwo what brand my belt is since it's unmarked, all I knwo is it's NYPD-issued. I know it will fit b/c I've seen it on other cops' belts.

Not the leather type...but if you have seen others...I would just ask someone...as foolish as it may seem, they should know and hopefully help you. If I remember, you should be able to adjust it like you stated you knew how too...i know theres something inside that will adjust it... Glad to hear you are with NYPD...be safe!

There's a nylon scabbard available directly from ASP that'll fit over any belt. It's got about a 2-inch gap that snaps at the bottom, but also has velcro all along the inside to take up the "slack" between the snap and belt - whatever size. I have one and wear it every day - works great.

If it is the actual ASP brand plastic holder, it should come apart (with a small allen wrench included behind the belt loop). It is kind of confusing if you don't have the directions that came with it.... Anyway, that is the way my issue holder is, but then again it is several years old. The new ones may be different. Hope this helps.

I know what you're talking about but it won't work b/c the belt slot is one solid piece so I won't be able to take it apart and reassemble.

yea it fits, i couldnt do it at all and then i used a little tip from the range guys and it took me literally 25 minutes to get it on. you have to use a credit card as a ramp and place it on the top belt part then squeeze it into the asp holder , then just use brute force to jimmy it on. good luck ;)
