I'm thinking about purchasing a CZ-75 9mm Auto. Can anyone give any advice on this purchase? What variables should I look for (adjustable sites, finish)? Are their multiple makers? Any major issues with specific makes or models.
Thanks for any assistance.

The first question that needs to be answered is what you are going to use the CZ for. Is it for personal fun and plinking? I have owned numerous CZ's over the years, and I love them. It is a love/hate weapon. I currently own a CZ-75B and a CZ-40. For a couple of years I carried a CZ-75 compact in made of alloy. Light, compact, great weapon. I sold it to be a Sig 228. Down side for me is that none of them have decockers.
The Cz-75B,is a big, on the heavy side compared to others (Glock, Springfield Armory). If you buy one I would purchase night sights. The CZ-85 is a nice weapon with the adjustable sights. Now they have the P0-1, and a combination venture the RAMII models.
Also EAA makes numerous models that are copies of the CZ that are great priced and range from 9mm to 10mm.
One good thing at this moment in time, extra high capacity magazines are better priced than a few years ago.
My CZ -75 fed all the ammo I put through without a hiccup. It placed the best shot groups with Winchester Silver tips though. The gun could probably shoot better, but a lot of this has to do with the shooter.

OSU,
Thanks for the reply. No tactical purpose for the weapon. More sentimental. All of the gunners in my scout platoon were issued them during my tour in Iraq. We found about 300 of them in a cache and took the best 10 for ourselves (with approval of our commander of course). After handling the sidearm for almost a year and depending on it once, I feel like I know the weapon fairly well. At least, better than any other auto I've ever handled. All other handguns feel strange to me. Did I get the CZ curse?
Do I have to purchase adjustable sights to have the night sight option? If a CZ has fixed sights, am I stuck with them forever?
We had multiple 15 rd mags in Iraq. I had to rotate one mag empty every 3-4 days or the spring would weaken and wouldn't feed the rounds properly. Is this normal? Also, with the assault ban lifted, how large of a mag can you own? I live in Virginia. I've seen some advertisements for 25 rd mags. Is this legal?
The CZs we had, had a little trouble with the US 9mm rounds that we were issued. We did come accross additional caches of some silver tip rounds that we didn't have any problems with.
One more thing. On price, I've seen CZ 75Bs between $375-$450. Is this what I should expect to pay?
Thanks again for your help OSU.
The CZ75B is a great firearms. I own one and the only problem I have ever had is that after a few hundred rounds of dirty ammo I started to get light firing pin strikes - nothing that a quick wipe from a gun rag didnt solve. They have gone up in price slightly since I bought mine (300) but difinately are still worth the price imho. Great gun all around for target shooting to CCW.

I believe that you have the CZ curse now. There are whole online groups dedicated to just CZ owners. I bought all of my CZ's when lived in Ohio and paid about $300. The CZ-40 I bought in 2000. it was $280 at a gun show new. The CZ compact I bought here in Richmond at Green Top in Glen Allen. It was over priced. Many people I work with buy most of their guns in either Manassas, or during the Gun Show's around VA Beach or Hampton roads.
As for the high caps, nothing in the code sections say anything different. ON various calls I have went on I have met various CCW holders who went and bought the high caps for Glocks, SA and the SIGs. If you can get a 25 round mag more power.
