I read two very short articles on this. Does anyone know the story behind the Army ordering 5,000 each of these two pistols?

I can't find where I read it, but apparently the Army is buying these handguns for combat vehicle crewmen.

I had to search the internet just to find out what a SIG P2022 was, it is a rail version of that crappy SIG-Pro 9mm, the plastic gun SIG can't give away. Who ever they are buying these pistols for, they don't like them much. Someone in procurment is doing budget shopping for someone, hopefully they are giving them away to Colombia's army or to the Iraqis.

I don't really like the Rugers. I just don't think they are up to the ware and tear of Police duty/military use.

I wouldn't use it for work. I use it as a CW
