I do not want to sound like a commercial but..........

I am very very picky about my boots.
I have high arches and a wide foot (I am not a monster) so many boots are not good. I have paid PRIMO bucks for Danner and a like. I am not putting Danner down, because they make a great boot.

Anyway, I order the 5.11 LE boot 8 in and got them yesterday.
Slipped those puppies on and it felt like I was wearing my running sneakers.
Virtually NO break in required, they come already shined and the Zipper on the side kicks a** (easy on and off).
They have a neat little (Hidden) pocket on each boot good for a cuff key or if you are not married, girl’s numbers and if you are married, you can hide your ring.....LOL.

Anyway, I would highly recommend these boots.

If I can wear them, anyone can....that is the cliché statement to make right at the end of any commercial?

Be safe

How's the insulation/waterproofing on them? My agency issues us Danner Arcadias and they have horrible insulation/waterproofing.

How is the sizing? Did you buy the same size that you normally wear in sneakers? Sometimes boots run a little small. I wear a 9.5 but sometimes 9.5 boots are tight on me. Did you have any problems like that? (I'm trying to find a good boot for the academy)

Sizing was my normal 12 wide
I used them in the field today and they are as comfortable as I thought they would be.

Feet stayed warm and comfy

Well, it's new boot buying time again. I'm gonna have to give these new poop stompers a look. :)

JUst picked up some 5.11 8" Side zips today. These boots rock. Thanks for the tip. I'll be testing them in the academy (MPDC) next week.

I recently picked up the 6 inch versions of the 5.11s. I haven't had much of a chance to field test them yet because I usually where my danners in the winter but so far they seem pretty light and warm, even in MN weather.

Bates Enforcer Series side zips are GREAT!!!! Around 70 beans and very lightweight! I have had mine a week and am considering ordering another pair. The 5.11's arent available in 14 wide, or else I would have given them a whirl.
