Have you ever had a crush on someone sooo bad you just forgot where you were any time they walked in the room?
A certain relatively new officer used to meet up with my academy instructors toward the end of our day to play basket ball. I recall exiting the locker room and seeing this perfect work of art making a slam dunk. OH MY GAWD he is beautiful just enough body with impressive brains. LOL I think I forgot how to talk the first time he said "Hi" to me!
well before I make anyone sick, I was just always three shades of red anytime he was around...even after we became friends/co-workers and my crush got mixed with respect. HE REALLY IS A GREAT GUY!! and ladies we all know how often that happens.
last Friday our dispatcher breaks in and notifies us an officer on district 6 has been shot and is down. My partner and I both instantly turn sick pale. Those of you that have been there know the feeling. So we both make frantic calls to anyone we have cell #s for in district 6. We get only voice mails. update officer is hit 3 times and scouts are conveying. ugh
several minutes later mid traffic stop I get a call back from another friend in 6. She informs me with tear cracking voice, "its "Doe" he's hit 3 times ..." I instantly tear up as my Sgt. arrives as backup on my traffic stop. He asks if I'm ok. I shake my head no. He says get your head together girl. I write some bs ticket to a driver that should have been arrested but I just didn't care. I didn't cry I just got numb and kept picturing him playing basket ball.
so far he is still critical but stable...he wrote a note when our chump mayor went to visit him in the hospital I assume that means he can't talk...but they won't let any of us know anything else and we are ban from visiting or sending flowers, bet that makes "Doe" feel loved.
yeah hes alive but its amazing how fast a daydream can turn into a nightmare. nobody wakes up and thinks today might be the day I die
