View Full Version : Beretta "M" Type Mags

For those of you who are not familiar with the Beretta "M" models, they are a compact, single-stack (8 round) version of the Beretta 92. They come in several different configurations. While I realize some folks strongly dislike the Beretta pistols, I happen to personally be very fond of them, and, in particular, the M series. Anyway, I am having a great deal of trouble finding spare M series mags (the series is discontinued). None of my "tried and true" sources have any. If any of you folks have a good lead on a source for Beretta "M" type mags, I would be most appreciative if you would pass it along.
Thanks,
Gonzo

Aren't those the same as those cheap Egyptian Helwan pistols? Would those mags work?

gunaccessories dot com has mags for a Beretta 1951, the Helwan copy, they are single stack 9mm if that is what you are talking about.
And BTW, I'd take a Beretta over any Smith or Ruger, any day!

Uncle Sugar,
Not to fear, my first love is still Sigs. I own far too many to change my mind now. LOL! But, my first issued semi-auto duty weapon (my actual first was a S&W Model 66 revolver) was the Beretta 92 and when I qualified as an NRA Distinguished Pistol Master, it was with a Beretta 96. I have always had a fondness for them.
KennethM3,
No, unfortunately, the Helwan mags would not work. The "M" series actually require the "M" series mags. Finding them lately is just a bit of a pain in the butt. Good thought, though...thanks.

Gonzo,
Check with a company called Mec-gar. I think they are an Italian company. Never bought any Beretta Magazines, but I have bought several sig magazines. This is the only company that I would ever consider buying aftermarket magazines from. High quality stuff. Since what you are looking for is discontinued not sure if they would still carry them or not. Give them a call if you can't get anything else.

Gaboy,
Actually, Mec-gar IS "factory" for over a dozen companies now, including Beretta and Sig. They have made the "factory" mags for many companies for years. As you pointed out, they do excellent work. I will not use anything but a factory mag (original or Mec-gar) in a gun that I carry for protection. Unfortunately, they were not the manufacturer when the "M" series stopped production, and Beretta no longer stocks the "M" mags. Sigh...

PS - Rzaruba, CDNN was one of my first tries, but no luck.
