This room has been very quiet for some time. Any one heard anything new or received COE for the Investigative Specialist position lately?

Still have "Referred to Selecting Official." I am assuming that they have a massive amount to people to train and the pipe is backed up. But then again, I could be waaaaaayyyy down the priority list for getting an interview.

Well I guess my BI started today. Friends calling saying they got calls etc. It happen so fast, I haven't even done my poly or psi yet. I guess there is a chance its not for the FBI (lots of apps out there), but one of my friends said the investigator said he was from the bureau.
Received my COE about three weeks ago. Waiting to be contacted for the PSI.
I thought they started the background after the other steps such as the PSI have been completed. Have things changed?

That is what I thought. They did reschedule my poly and PSI. They moved it up two weeks. Maybe they are is a hurry to fill spots at Quantico while SAs classes are delayed?
I'm new to the process and board so please forgive me for jumping in here. I had my interview about 3 weeks ago and was told to expect a BI to begin in 3-4 weeks. From what I understood, pending results of the BI, they would send a COE, then do the poly, medical etc.
From the tone of the conversation though, it seemed that the hiring process was in a state of change and there was no real sense of clarity on exactly what order of the steps would be.
For whatever that's worth. Good luck to everyone in the process.

You will get a conditional offer before your BI starts. It would make sense for them to do the PSI before starting, the point of the PSI is to go over your forms and make sure you have your chance to explain anything that may come up in your background. But I guess they don't have to do it in that order. After the BI, poly, physical are complete, you'll get a formal offer of employment that will also tell you to which office you'll be assigned and when you EOD. The BIs tend to be fast in the bureau, matter of weeks instead of months in many cases (not me, but many others). Have fun and relax during the poly. It's nothing to worry about.
Just an aside schoolboy, SSG class schedules have nothing to do with NAT classes at Quantico, so that isn't why your dates have been pushed up. Still good news though in any case!
Anyone know the approximate time between COE and PSI?
thanks
I interviewed back on Feb 22. Anyone know how long it takes before you recieve the results?

I was told by 3 team leaders in my FO that "you should get word within 30 days" I'm taking that to mean that it's okay to call if you haven't heard anything by then. I interviewed right about the same time you did. I'm going to wait a couple of weeks yet to see if they call before I check up. I know my supervisor knows, she's just not telling!! ;)

I never got an official COE. They told me at the interview. My PSI is going to be about 2.5 months after my initial interview. (Its in two weeks.) They started my background about a week ago (3 weeks prior to my psi/poly).
I interviewed the first week of March and was told I would be contacted within 30 days to schedule poly, etc. Not quite 30 days and I haven't heard anything yet.
I was also told that September (or sooner) was the targeted start date.

I will encourage any one that did not hear from his/her field office 30 days after the interview to call the field office immediately. I called mine 30 days after my interview and got the good news. The earlier you call the better.
On my part, I have completed all the process with exception of my medical. Hopefully, my medical would take place in April. Best of luck to everyone in the process.
GM.
Does anyone happen to have the original announcement on digits, or a link for it reference the SSG job announcement from around the Aug 04-DEC04 announcement? Have done some searching for it here and on the FBI site but no luck. I am pretty much in the same boat as most of you. THX Found the announcement number, which is 05-2005-0009.

Got it, check your PM. I had to send it in 2 pm's since there's a limit.
Is the field office the best point of contact to check the results of the interview? Or is there someone in D.C. I need to contact?
