HELP! Having a bad day.

Ok, here I am ready to begin my final week at the academy before graduation tomorrow (Monday).
(28 weeks of hardcore stress)
My mother-in-law was admitted into the intensive care unit last night
and as of this morning things were looking pretty bleak. My father-in-law called at about 8am this morning telling my other half that Mom is dying.
This had happened once before, about a year ago, and the experts were wrong, thank God.
So, naturally I'm taking care of our 5 year old while the others spend time at the hospital. I haven't heard from any of them all day. I must admit that I'm kind of freaking out at this point. I don't know that I can live with myself if I leave the love of my life to deal with a gravely ill mother and/or funeral arrangements while I spend my final week at the academy.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

My prayers are with you first of all. As soon as you can speak with your instructors and explain what is going on. They may be able to weed out for you what is nessary and what it is filler for for the final week. First take care of your family and with the help of your new law enforcement family.... I am sure they will work with you to get you through the next week...Stay stong and we are here to talk to....Chicks

I just heard that Mom is stable as of last time the doctor saw her.
