I was recently disqualified from my background investigation for not telling the background investigator that was arrested as a juvenile. When I was 16 years old I was arrested for shoplifting, the case was dropped and they called my parents. I thought my arrest would not be on my record as a juvenile and it was closed. I really screwed up!! I should of told my background investigator about the incident.
I want to procees again with another police department and tell them about the incident. Would processing with another police department effect my application or process??

When you apply to the next agency be sure to list the arrest and provide details as you did here.

Also, if the next agency asks if and where you have applied before, be sure to provide this information. When they ask you where you have applied it is less to see if you are just doing the Shotgun application procedure but more so to uncover details such as the one you are in.

Being DQ'd by one agency does not take you out of the running, but leaving this off the next application may come back on you even if they dont find it right away.

Always be upfront and honest, better to not get the job than to loose it 3 months into the academy.

This shouldn't be much of a problem when you decide to apply elsewhere. Just make sure when the questions comes up about where else have you applied and the reasons for not getting hired come up you disclose everything. The actual incident itself is minor considering you were a juvenile at the time.
