If something questionable is found or clarification is needed on an issue then they will use it. I am pass the background and pass the oral interview board. My packet is in Austin with many others awaiting to be picked for the Nov. academy. The process has gone much smoother than I ever thought it would. However, I am not getting my hopes up. Most Troopers do not get in on their first try. I also am not a minority which is what they are really looking for. However, I do have other excellent attributes that might pull me through to the other side.

The process is moving fast so far. So what your saying is that if your not a minority or this is your first time to apply, then it is hard to get in?

Also, how long has it taken you to get thriugh the process. Also, how long was the panel interview and what type of scenario questions did they ask. Any help would be great.

Basically yes! It is moving fast for me also. I tested on July 14, they started my BI on 7/23. Completed BI on 8/8. I had my oral interview with panel on 8/14. Now the slow part comes. They told me it would be late Sept. or early Oct. before I hear anything at all. The packet goes to Austin to determine who will be invited to Austin for the three day trip. Yes, if you are a minority you will be looked upon very favorably if you meet all of the minimum requirements. The panel interview was very short 15 - 20 minutes. Typical scanario type questions. Not a lot of them that questioned what would you do if you were a police officer, but more moral type questions. Partner stealing cash, other officers having parties where alcohol is served. Other than that they ask the typical tell us about yourself, and why should we hire you questions.

What is the 3 day trip?

Also during the back ground, who did they contact as far as work or neighbors?
