I submitted my on-line application to FDLE for a Special Agents position. Anyone out there with any experience with FDLE and/or the hire process. Have over 7 years as LEO, half done with college, prior marine and now National Guard. Most important I got my FDLE Certifacation a while back. Drop a line and let me know. Take care and be safe.

Excellent agency but EXTREMELY difficult to get on. I have buddies that have 5+ yrs exp and college degrees that cannot get on as trainees. My one buddy has close to 6 years on at another state agency and made it to the interview portion before getting the thanks but no thanks letter.

They are like the FBI of Fl. They have their hands in every type of investigation you can imagine.

As the old saying goes "it's good work if you can get it".

Check with PAPIMIKE If I remember he went through the process or looked into it so he might have some intel for you.

They look for year of LE investigative experience, not just as a patrol officer. Even if you have 7 yrs as a ACTIVE LEO, they mainly look at how many yrs as a Detective. You mentioned that you have your FDLE certification, does that mean you are currently a LEO in FL or did you get it then leave? Because FL has a state exam that might have not been there when you went through the FL academy. Being FL certified will increase your chances, because like any other agency they don't want to pay or wait for an academy.
They are very picky about hiring, unless you have a hook.

I should have said that I have taken the transition course for FDLE certification and passed the state exam. I applied on-line because they are recruiting and it has not cost me anything except a little time. I am not from Florida so I do not really have the hook, they can just say no.
