Hello,
It has been a while since I posted. I have just been working and waiting to apply again.
The time has come to jump back into the fray and I am applying to three different agencies. They all use the same questionaire for the most part.
My question is this. They want you to list all your family relations.
That is no problem in itself but I don't really have that close of bond with my brothers and sister. They are all half from my parents prior marriages and are much older than me.
How should I list them or should I? I know I should but this one has me thinking more into it than I should.
Thanks
Lance:)

Well, that's kind of complicated..if you have met them before and they know you then you should list them. I have 2 half sisters and I have never met them in my entire life. They are all like over 30 now and living in god knows where. I didn't list them in my background simply because it's irrelevant since I never knew them and they are barely a blood relation.

I am in a simular boat as you. My dad has just recently remarried and his new wife has children that are all grown up. Since my background packet asked to list step-brothers/sisters I listed them. When I met with my B.I. last Monday I made it a point to notify her that I don't know, ever met, nor had any contact with them. Honesty is the best policy, if it is asked tell 'em. In most cases you will get a chance to talk to a B.I. before they start to contact the people listed in your background packet.

Good Luck,

I would list them as step-brother/sister and follow ranger's advice. Unless your step-siblings are as nasty as Cirderella's were you shouldn't have to sweat it at all.

I'd list them and state that you have little or no contact with them due to the reasons you've already listed. As a BI, I'd take it for what it's worth.

Best bet is to list it all.
