I know a lot of people applied last year and are still in the pipe under 2004 announcements. I am one of them, I interviewed at an FO in Nov for a position whose announcement closed in July. They told me they were interested in moving forward. Then a bunch of announcements were cancelled, and although technically this one was not, I think in essence, the processing under the July announcement ended too. But it's obvious that others are processing still under 2004 announcements and are in various stages of completion.

So I reapplied under a 2005 announcemnt (FO-2005-0019 and -0022) and have been referred to selecting official for a couple weeks now for both announcements for all grades from GS 7-12.

Where do others stand on the 2005 announcements? Anyone gotten an interview or been invited to send in a BI form or been contacted by an AC?

I applied to 0022 in early March and was "referred to selecting official" a couple of weeks ago. I'm assuming being "referred" is a good thing, but I don't know if that means your odds of getting an interview are any better. I was referred for the GS-9 application not the GS-11 (the only two for which I applied). I have not heard anything since.

i'm in exactly the same situation as orange... happy to be "referred," but now (im)patiently waiting to hear anything at all.

Tifalk, that's a pretty quick turnaround on the BI. Would you mind posting a detailed timeline of the various steps?

Was that for a 2005 announcement or a 2004 announcement?

In either case, that's wonderful news! Good luck!

That's not that quick of a turnaround, if I'm reading things correctly. my timeline's going like this:

May 2004-Applied online to announcement FO-2004-007
June 2004-Received call from DC to fill out FD-140 & SF-86 and send in to HQ.
August 2004-Received letter with conditional offer of employment
September 2004-Reported to local FO for poly/PSI/drug test
March 4, 2005-Received call from DC that BI was complete, ordered to fly out to DC for interview
March 21, 2005-Received call from DC that I had been selected-given official starting date of 5/29/05.
May 07, 2005-Still waiting for official selection letter and relocation packet.

Congrats, Snowdog!!!

So the two who received a job offers received them for 2003 or 2004 announcements. How about those who received conditional offers? Were they for the 2005 announcement? Have you been invited to send in background info and asked to pee and fingerprint?

Forms,

I think your statistical sample has been a bit tained by 2004 applicants :D

I too was hoping to learn more from those who had applied to the most recent announcements in 2005. As far as I can tell, I haven't seen anyone that got even an interview for the 2005 announcement as of yet. Given Buman's recent comments and the closing of the announcement, I suspect that some lucky folks should be hearing "relatively" soon. I just hope I'm one of them.

Well, it was hardly scientific. LOL :D

I don't think anyone has gotten further than the 'referred to selecting officer' on the 2005 announcements. If BuMan's correct, there will soon be interviews in the field offices. I hope we all get calls.

It is always interesting to see the timelines of people who have received final offers. It looks consistently to be about 18 months. When I hired on to the NSA in 1988 it took 18 months. My app for the USSS looks like it will take 18 months too. I know people do it faster and slower, but ... 18 seems to be a rough average.

Was that announcement for an HQ vacancy? Where did you do the interview out of curiousity?

I can't vote again, but now I have a 'referred to selecting officer' status AND an interview for an FO-2005 announcement.

Did you receive a call in the last day or two from a local FO? Unfortunately, as I noted along with a few others, my status was downgraded to application received (not good). So goes the game.

Forms,

What is your status on fbijobs.com for 2005-0022? You mentioned in another post that it was changed back to "application received" (same message I got), but now you're saying you got an interview. Any clarification would be very helpful. Thanks.

I applied for FO-2005-0022 and FO-2005-0019. I was first 'referred to selecting officer' for both, and then sometime this week, had the 0022 status revert to 'app revd'. So I'm assuming the interview is for the 0019 announcement.

Hi all ~ I've been reading all your posts, and guess I'm in a similar situation with the waiting. I applied under the summer 2004 (July) post that was canceled, however, I interviewed in January with the HRT here in Quantico (I live in the area) and was told in March they selected me for employment, we just had to get the background done (I already have an SCI clearance and work in Quantico as a contractor). We were hoping for a start date of April 18, and in early April I received a CO, but the pay was about $12,000 less than we had agreed on. The agent I was working with at HRT said she put in a request for a raise and the new bonus as well, and asked me to reapply under the new announcement in case it was denied, that way she said they would hire me under that announcement instead.

Needless to say, the hire date of 4/18 did not happen... last month they interviewed most of my contacts and just last Thursday I took the Poly/Prints/Pee test. I have no idea how much longer I have to wait, and don't even know if the pay/bonus issue was worked out, but I'm trying VERY HARD to be patient. I don't have an HR rep name to check in with, and have heard from various case managers in Richmond. Hopefully nothing will go wrong between now and the final offer! Just wanted to share my timeline with you and wish you all good luck!
