I recently applied to the announcement for Surveillance Specialist. If the FBI shows interest in me, what is the average hiring timetable to this position. Does it help that I'm already a federal employee with a secret security clearance? any help is much appreciated..

To be honest, I don't really know the hiring timeline .... but I would guess it is similar to SA and IA. Somewhere between 6 and 18 months.
Unfortunately, the Bu will not take much stock in the secret clearance you already have. They will do a full SSBI on you so you can obtain TS clearance.
Good luck.
